My Approach
Hello and welcome. Thank you for taking the time to learn about my practice. I take great pride in my work and hope this section summarizes my approach to the therapeutic process. First, I genuinely believe that a positive and trusting relationship between a therapist and a patient creates the most solid foundation for progress. Next, I believe that we all come to a place in our lives, maybe once, maybe at several points, where we need support to reach our goals. My focus is to work with you on identifying your obstacles, moving them aside and achieving a happier, healthier life. Lastly, my hope is to provide a safe, nurturing space free of judgement, for you to process your thoughts and feelings. You might be trying to resolve some issues from your past, find inner peace or acceptance, establish healthy coping skills, or create healthier relationships with those you care about. Whatever your reasons may be for seeking support, I want you to feel empowered to achieve your goals. I believe you are the expert and my job is to support, guide, and make recommendations, but ultimately this is your journey.
I support and accept all individuals, regardless of race, sexuality, sexual preference, gender, or nationality.
For teens and parents of teens-I have extensive experience working with anxiety and depression, self harm, low self esteem, school avoidance, and relational issues. I have also worked at length with families of teens who are trying their best to support their children through the difficulties of adolescence.
I would be honored to join you on your journey toward health and healing.
Warmly,
Kara
